Recent Clients by genre: A capella/chorale Horizon has hosted nearly all of the Yale family of vocal groups, including the Wiffenpoofs, The Spizzwinks, The New Blue, Shades, RedHot and Blue, Baker's Dozen, the Dukesmen of Yale, The Alley Cats, Living Water, Mixed Company, Whim and Rhythm, Yale Slavic Chorus, and a few that slip my mind. Trinity College and Wesleyan University have also sent projects, most notably the Trinity Accidentals. Gospel Horizon has enjoyed a close relationship with the regional Gospel Community and maintains a solid national reputation for our work in this field. Youthful Praise and Deon Kippings and New Covenant, two nationally ranked artists did their entire first releases at Horizon and continue to visit us when thy are recording in the area. Nationally known figures like Edwin Hawkins, Sanchez Harley, Joel Bryant and Jonathan DuBose have worked on CD length projects here. Live CDs from the East Coast Regional Mass Choir and the Gospel Mens Worksop of America have posted here. Additionally we have produced CDs for many of the Northeast's best gospel quartets, including the Golden Stars, The New Pilgrims of Faith, and many more. Mary Taylor's "Blues Gone Gospel" and a new release for 2010. Jazz/Blues Many of our favorite CDs are in this genre. Matt Guitar Murphy, Eddie Milton King, Jesse Austin and Jeff Pitchell all have spent significant time here. The legendary Ahmad Jamal's CD live with the Assai Quartet was recorded live by Horizon's Vic Steffens, as well as mixed and posted for PBS. David Chevin's Reckless DC Music has done many of its CDs at Horizon, including most of the Afro Semitic Experience's catalog. Noted sideman like Harold Danko, Jeff Fuller and Kris Jensen and George Baker have worked here. The list goes on. Singer/Songwriter Horizon was the primary studio for the recent "The Deep End" by Christine Ohlman. Producer Dick Neal tracks basics, finalizes mixes and masters at Horizon. Artists include Ani DiFranco, Anne Marie Menta, Marc Douglas Berardo, LeeJay Rudenjak, Katie Wilson and Charlotte Kendrick, James Velvet and various permutations of The Mockingbirds, the forthcoming Isaac Allen produced by Vic Steffens and Matt Ostreicher. Arlene Wow "The Red Becomes You." Rock/Pop Seth Adam "Where you Come From." and tracking for "Amplify." The Breakfast - all nationally released CDs, Sister Funk (2010) release, Tucker Jameson - all CDs, global bassist/producer Doug Wimbish brought Europe's TARJE to Horizon for a week of tour prep and added tracks to his Cinema Sonics CD. Mighty Purple - 3 CDs produced nt Vic Steffens (Live at Whitney Barn, How To Make a Living, Para Mejor Mejor), Gargantua Soul. New Orleans legends Thunderhead is remastering recently located tracks featuring Johnny and Edgar winter, who also produced. Recording new tracks in Jan. 2010 - Calm to Chaos, The West Rockers.
